Tuesday Morning – School? Where ever that may be!

After such a wonderful sleep I was amping – until I had to walk for miles. So I was the map girl – as I pride myself in having good directional skills (yes Andy Woodward) we headed in the way my arm lead me. After crossing roads and dogging super fast scooters we made it to the park in which school was nearby. We went left and then left and then left and then left again (yes for those of you – we went in a circle) and finally came to the IED campus after asking numerous people how to get there slash I speak NO English!!

We enter school and find where we need to go on the map and head for it – Ivana our saviour in getting our visa’s in time came to meet us. We sat at the desk as she explained that we had another 101 forms to fill out – I might say that it was like sitting a test that you didn’t study for and then for a joke someone changed the language. She nicely guided us through it and we set out for our tour of the campus while we were eagerly getting tips on how to use the underground.

So school looks pretty nice so far, its modern and the people seem fairly nice – the computer rooms are what totally blew me away. Think large screen T.V = computer screen and they were some pretty nice Mac’s as well. We hear that school is by a LARGE supermarket I think that we will have to check it out!! After our exhausting experience at school we headed for lunch.
Lunch – well I think that we have just found our local. On the corner by school – pretty handy aye – but I might say a little different than the normal Fix or Eureka. We had a Panini that wasn’t really a Panini – maybe you could call it a roll?? So after our experience soaking up the very hot Italian weather we sourced more information about trams and undergrounds (can you see, we are currently scared of public transport) we headed to the tobacco store across the road and got our first tickets – then never mind you we ran to catch the tram – on it, well if we were hot before we got even hotter – Sardines in a can x10 with around 20degree weather (and everyone else wearing layers and woollens – I think that they are crazy!! We just don’t understand stupid Italian’s – this is HOT!!!)

The underground coming up fast!!

On the underground - boy it was HOTT

Off we got and down ‘underground’ to the underground (fancy that!!) As we got ‘underground’ we walked aimlessly looking for where we were meant to go – I tell you I think that you could actually get lost – its a scary place under there. So with the help of the Ayers’ friend I managed to inform Anna about which one to catch – so the underground destinations work in relation to the last stop. Once we sorted that we waited around 2mins and swish there was the underground (might add it was just like the movies – lol) We were excited and just like that we were in another sardine can. But it was fun, and man don’t they go fast!! We bumped into a beggar – our first with crippled feet that Anna thought wanted a seat so motioned him towards it. Note we are trying to get Milan Savvy (street wise!!! Heck yes, I’m getting black!!!) so we didn’t give him any money – NO NO NO!!! We say.

So off we go again to get out ATM cards for the subway (not the kind you eat!) and then entered out into the Dumo – quite amazing really. So I think that I will let the photo’s do the talking. Oh firstly we are trying to get savvy right – well we weren’t (easy target is written on our forehead) We ended up with these bracelets on us and they were saying that they are good luck charms from the ‘PEOPLE OF AFRICA!!!!’ I love you – from the PEOPLE OF AFRICA!!! NO NO NO!!! I got smart and walked off poor Anna was trying to explain to them that we have no money. Bet that – Africans!! Well not really but then we got bombarded by crazy pigeon men. That put lots of grain into your hand (while I might add I was trying to run away) we grabbed a few shots and then boosted. Check my face out!! I HATE BIRDS EVEN ON A GOOD DAY!!

Check us out (facials) and the bird - yowzers!!

This place is amazing, you could actually people watch all day (yes mum!!) the architecture is just so beautiful its like we’re not really here – it seems so surreal that this is all that I have ever seen in my art history books. Now its right in front of me – crazy huh!!

Dumo - center of Milan

Plazza
Outside Louis Vuitton - keep dreaming
We decided to go shopping and I left Anna in charge of the map – umm.....well this was interesting. LOL bless her, we walked around aimlessly for a while (actually we bumped into some pretty interesting people – Mr Clappy) – yes if we didn’t learn faster, we regrouped and headed for Torino. We didn’t really shop much today but I think that we will head off again tomorrow. After our attempt at catching a tram again we were pretty exhausted and tired after waiting for it to come and making sure that we were going to get on the right one – while getting a bit delayed at the Vodafone shop (everything here they give you a number and you just wait your turn – mind you that takes like hours!!) So while waiting for this tram to come that actually never comes as we finally figured out that we were waiting for it in the wrong place – we got home in a very tired and hungry state that had me nearly comaring out on the floor with my tummy again on the verge of eating it’s self! (why am I so hungry these days?? Worms I say – I need a doctor, pronto!!)

Oh forgot to add we made our first Italian meal and so in thanks to Italy we made pasta – um it twas good!

So in conclusion it was a huge day and we are both fairly tired so off to bed at 9pm to get a restful sleep. Ciao!!
P.S sorry I tried to up load a copy of Mr Clappy man but it wouln't fully upload so hopefully I will be able to get it to you guys sometime soon, it's so funny!!
